Hon’ble Supreme Court bench composed of Hon’ble Justice Mr. Shah and Hon’ble Justice Aniruddha Bose directed Railway authority to pay compensation to the passenger for loss and agony suffered due to delay and late arrival of trains simultaneously deficiency in services. On Account of delay in arrival, the Railway is required to explain the delay that occurred because of reasons beyond their control. Further contended that these are the days of competition and accountability, if the public transportation has to survive and compete with private players. Then Railways have to improve the system and their working culture. Citizens/ passengers cannot be at the mercy of the authorities/administration.
